A Balanced Look at Aunty Arenal Lodge: Luxury Meets ValueDuring my recent visit to Aunty Arenal Lodge, I encountered a mixed experience that is worth sharing for potential guests. While the beautifully maintained garden and swimming pool enhanced the property's appeal, it's essential to consider some drawbacks. Our accommodations initially presented issues-ants and an unwelcomed lizard inside our room. The host kindly offered us an upgrade to one of four more appealing cabins. The lodge features conveniences such as a washing machine and outdoor dining areas, which were beneficial for my family's stay. The breakfast, although satisfactory, showcased some traditional Costa Rican cuisine but lacked variety. Expect disturbances from the local wildlife; a rooster announced each day at dawn without warning. Guests should also be cognizant of amenities such as a soft mattress and limited Wi-Fi in certain rooms. Aunty Arenal offers a compelling value proposition, especially given its location and hospitable staff. If you are prepared to balance comfort with nature's unpredictability while benefiting from a few luxurious touches, this lodge might be suitable for your Costa Rican adventures.
